Heating in Houses & Apartments

Apartments
- Most have Megaflo ( Hot Water Cylinders) - Some have Ariston. These hot water cylinders require annual maintenance. If you do not carry out this maintenance you are wasting money by heating up water that is then discharged into the car park via copper pipes. This in turn causes puddles and damp brickwork in communal areas.
Houses
- Landlords should carry out annual landlord gas checks.
Heating
- Most properties have "De-Vi" underfloor heating .
- Underfloor heating can take several days to come through once you switch it on for the first time in winter - it is not always instant like traditional radiators.
- Please ensure fused spurs are switched on in every room that you require heating. ( They look like light switches and are at knee level).
- Please ensure "heating " is switched ON on your fuse board.
- Thermostats for bathrooms are often inside the nearest wardrobe.

- Please note that heating /hot water problems are down to residents /landlords to fix. The Estate Management Office can however recommend companies ...
